YardLink ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it when you use our platform at yardlink.com.
By using YardLink, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information: Your name, email address, phone number, and account type (Homeowner, Business, or Property Manager).
Property information: Service address, lot size, grass type, gate codes, and property photos submitted for service requests.
Payment information: Credit and debit card details are collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. YardLink does not store full card numbers on our servers.
Location data: GPS coordinates may be collected from business users during job check-in and check-out to verify on-site presence. This data is only collected with your permission.
Usage data: Pages you visit, search queries you perform, and technical information such as your device type, browser, and IP address.
Communications: Messages sent through the platform, reviews you write, and content submitted as part of a dispute.
Photos: Portfolio images, before/after job photos uploaded by businesses, and property photos submitted by homeowners.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to:
- Match homeowners with qualified local service providers
- Process and manage payments through Stripe
- Send transactional emails such as quote notifications, invoice receipts, and dispute updates
- Display your business profile and portfolio to potential customers
- Generate usage analytics to improve platform performance and features
- Enforce our Terms of Service and assist in resolving disputes between users
4. Third-Party Services
YardLink integrates with the following third-party services to operate the platform:
Stripe — Handles all payment processing, including card storage and transaction execution. Stripe's privacy policy governs how payment data is handled. We never receive or store your full card number.
Resend — Delivers transactional email notifications such as quote alerts and invoice receipts. Your email address is shared with Resend for the purpose of delivering these messages.
OpenWeatherMap — Provides weather forecast data displayed on the business dashboard to assist with scheduling.
Supabase — Powers our database and file storage infrastructure, hosted on AWS. Your account data, property information, and uploaded files are stored here.
Vercel — Hosts and delivers the YardLink web application globally.
5. Data Sharing
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
When you request a quote from a business, we share your name, phone number, email address, and service address with that business so they can respond to your request.
Sensitive property details — including gate codes and property-specific access instructions — are only shared with a business after they have formally accepted your job.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
We may share data with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, or other parties when legally required to do so, or to protect the rights and safety of YardLink and its users.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal account data for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days.
We may retain anonymized or aggregated transaction records for up to 7 years after account deletion for tax compliance, legal obligations, and financial record-keeping purposes.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by emailing privacy@yardlink.com.
Correction: You can update most of your account information directly from your dashboard settings at any time.
Deletion: You can delete your account from your dashboard settings. We will remove your personal data within 30 days of receiving your deletion request.
Portability: You may request an export of your data by contacting us at privacy@yardlink.com.
8. Cookies and Tracking
YardLink uses essential session cookies required for authentication and to keep you logged in while you use the platform. These cookies do not track you across other websites.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or behavioral advertising networks. Our analytics are minimal and privacy-respecting.
9. Children's Privacy
YardLink is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user under the age of 18 has created an account, we will promptly delete that account and any associated data.

10. Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard safeguards, including:
- Encrypted data transmission via HTTPS/TLS on all platform connections
- Row-level security (RLS) policies enforced at the database level through Supabase
- PCI-compliant payment infrastructure provided by Stripe
No system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your YardLink account and to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, and whether it is disclosed to third parties.
- Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale: You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. YardLink does not sell personal information.

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through a notice on the platform.
